BEFORE THE TREND

Urchin-style and “spiky” finesse baits are one of bass fishing’s hottest conversations in 2026. The Crawlin’ family gives Arkie an authentic way into that conversation: anglers were already fishing the Crawlin’ Fry on varied finesse and bottom-contact rigs long before today’s urchin-style craze. It is not the same bait or material as modern TPE urchin baits, and we should not claim that it is. RIG IT YOUR WAY

Fish the Crawlin’ Fry on a Wacky Head, Finesse Jig, Carolina rig or split-shot. It can also be Texas rigged or paired with an appropriately sized jig head when the situation calls for a weedless or controlled presentation.

HOW TO FISH IT

Crawl it along bottom, hop it with pauses, drag it, jig it or swim it slowly. Let the multi-leg profile work with small movements rather than overworking the bait.

WHEN TO REACH FOR IT

Use it when bass are relating to bottom or cover, when fishing pressure calls for a different profile, or when you want one creature bait that can move from finesse to traditional rigging without changing families.
